Ironically, in their view the only way to avoid totalitarianism is to have one party rule from their side. Because like so many words today (racism, fascism, democracy, etc.) ātotalitarianismā has lost any objective meaning. In practice, to the left it simply means āthat which I disagree with.ā
Itās bizarre to see them seesaw back and forth that Trump is totally clueless and aloof, just golfing all day, then all of a sudden heās a dangerous king/dictator whoās diligently plotting to seize absolute power.

Or immigrants given temporary work permit who returned to their country, people issued new numbers for various reasons, etc. However, most are simply due to the govt not diligently keeping track of deaths.
