There’s a whole genre of these memes that purposely ignore the primary objection behind modern drag shows and kids; the overt sexual element. A man dressed as a woman on stage twerking, spreading his legs, having kids put dollar bills in his g-string, etc. is obviously different than a comedy act where a guy wears a dress (the gag being that everyone knows he’s not actually a woman). To equate the two equally is extremely disingenuous.
There is now an overreaction from some on the right that could potentially infringe on first amendment issues (i.e. banning anything with drag content) but the initial and primary outrage over the past couple years has focused on shows with adult sexual content advertised as “family friendly.”
