▪️This is a hilarious attempt to craft a narrative. Commander wasn’t “untrainable,” German shepherds are highly trainable dogs. The reason Commander left the White House is he bit Secret Service personnel in at least 24 incidents! Which doesn’t include the bites to other staffers, of which there were many.

▪️These 24 biting incidents took place in just an 8 month span, from Oct ‘22 to July ‘23. A FOIA document reported members of the Secret Service being bitten on the wrist, forearm, elbow, waist, chest, thigh & shoulder. The report doesn’t include other bites to White House staff.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68366306

▪️The problem was so pervasive and known that an email was sent to SS agents saying, “The recent dog bites have challenged us to adjust our operational tactics when Commander is present – please give lots of room.” And, that agents “must be creative to ensure our own personal safety.”

▪️ The bites took place inside and outside of the White House residence, but also at Biden family homes in Wilmington & Rehoboth Beach, at Camp David and in Nantucket.

▪️One incident happened at Biden’s beach home, where an agent walked to a backyard security post and heard Commander start to bark, but did not realize Commander was “loose and off leash.”

🔹 “In the background SA [redacted] heard the voice of what believes to be FLOTUS Dr. Jill Biden [redacted] yelling [redacted quote]. Commander ran toward the direction of post [redacted] booth and bit SA [redacted] in the left forearm. Causing a severe deep open wound. As result of the attack SA [redacted] started to loose (sic) a significant amount of blood from [redacted] arm”

▪️In another, an agent was bitten on the forearm while holding the door open in the area between the West Wing & the residence:

🔹”Commander and POTUS were entering the Palm Room through the West Colonnade. Commander came in first circled back and grabbed my arm left arm. He then stood up and back down. He is literally my height standing. POTUS entered shortly after since he was trailing behind him. POTUS entered the Palm Room and said [redacted],” the agent said in a description of the event, saying that they were “in shock that this incident occurred.”

▪️ Another involved a “deep bite" on the forearm of an agent, who needed stitches. Blood on the floor in an area of the White House caused tours of the East Wing of the building to be suspended for 20 minutes. There are many other harrowing stories of similar nature.

▪️This, understandably, caused significant tension between the Bidens and Secret Service. Plus, the press was already on the story (remember his prior dog Major ALSO bit SS agents). Unless they wanted a major scandal, the only solution was to remove the dog.

▪️To pretend like this is “decent human” behavior is absurd. Most owners would be mortified if their dog bit someone, let alone their security. Now imagine your dog biting DOZENS of your staff and still expecting them to work in the vicinity of your huge dog. It’s narcissism on a level most can’t attain, and reveals a certain kind of dog owner.

▪️The left keeps using this meme but they don’t actually believe it. If you believe SNAP subsidizes companies to pay below a “living wage” this implies that if you take food stamps away they would suddenly pay a higher, “living” wage. So why not get rid of food stamps, then?!

▪️Except they know, and everyone knows, this isn’t true. Wages are set by supply and demand, not some mythical “living wage” metric. Absent food stamps there would actually be downward, not upward, pressure on wages, because the reality is food stamps subsidize the poor to not work as much as they might otherwise need to.

▪️Without SNAP, some low income people would need to work more hours to make ends meet, increasing the availability of low-skilled labor and lowering wages (all else being equal).

▪️Plus, we all know the left loves and supports food stamps. Which means, by this meme’s logic, they love to subsidize corporate profits. But they don’t really, they just think this ...

▪️Wait, this is the guy libertarians and the new right rave about being a great historian?! This sounds like a clueless meme from The Other 98%, except they wouldn’t add in the bizarre defense of feudal lords. Feudalism didn’t deprive peasants of their livelihoods for abstract goals? This is total fantasy.

▪️Amazon employs 1.55M, so this is less than 2% of their workforce, although these cuts will be to corporate, which employs 350k, so 8.5% of that. The CEO says there is an excess of bureaucracy at Amazon, and AI can automate certain repetitive tasks. Also, much of the cuts will be to HR, which is expected shrink by 15%, yay. Managers and HR are peasants now?

▪️I don’t know the inner workings of Amazon, and neither does Darryl, but this seems to be normal management practice to keep a company efficient and competitive. Given the immense size of Amazon the numbers look large, but far bigger shakeups happen all the time in the private sector. Apparently, under the new ...

▪️This statistic is just made up. The reality is that there hasn’t been a real study on this since 2013, when Pew did a poll. They found that Democrats were actually more than twice as likely as Republicans to report ever using food stamps (22% vs 10%).
https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2013/07/12/the-politics-and-demographics-of-food-stamp-recipients/

▪️Obviously, those percentages could have changed over the past decade, but it’s very likely that Dems still receive more SNAP benefits. Certainly, without an actual study or poll the claim should be thrown out, as it wildly contradicts a previous study.

▪️The meme probably comes from a 2024 analysis by Social Explorer, which found that 78.7% of US counties with the largest increase in SNAP since 2010 voted for Trump in 2020. But that tells us nothing about the actual number of Republicans (or Democrats) who are receiving benefits, just county-wide trends.
